Public Consultation On Proposed Changes To Christ The King Catholic Academy's Admissions Arrangements For 2022/2023

Created: Tuesday, 08 December 2020 14:39

Christ the King Catholic Academy (part of BEBCMAT – The Blessed Edward Bamber Multi Academy Trust) is consulting on proposed changes to the admissions policy to take effect for academy admissions for September 2022. The proposed changes will affect new applications for Years Reception to Y6 in Christ the King Catholic Academy (from September 2022 onwards).

Proposed Changes to the Admissions Policy for Years Reception to Y6
The proposed changes under Christ the King’s oversubscription criteria are:

  • Point 9 would read - Children of staff employed by BEBCMAT (removal of the phrase… for two or more years or who have been recruited to meet a particular skills shortage’)
  • Points 10 and 11 would change order to align across the Trust
  • Add a new point 12 – Children of other faiths
  • New point 13 would read – Other children whose parents/carers wish them to be educated within the ethos and values of a Roman Catholic Academy

You can find the current document with the proposed changes here or by asking for a copy of the information at the school office.

Marian Turns 100

Created: Friday, 20 November 2020 09:09

Marian100What a wonderful celebration some CTK school council representatives enjoyed with Marian and her carers. Without family close by and the national lock down this meant Marian was going to miss out on some significant celebrations. She was hoping for a party “@thegrange” but this needed to be cancelled. So Team CTK came to the rescue. Over 100 cards were received and delivered to Marian on Tuesday.

A note from Cath @thegrange “Marian, has just called to say how thrilled she was with the children yesterday, she has read all the cards and she thought they were delightful. She commented on how many Polish family names there were, she was delighted as she was a member of the Polish Club for years and had many Polish friends. They used to, in her words, ”have a bit of banter” with her as Marian is actually a Polish boy’s name!”

This video linked below shares the moment we sang Happy Birthday to her and she showed us her telegram.
