At Christ the King, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to flourish, no matter their starting point or individual needs. That’s why we’re proud to introduce The Meadow—our enhanced provision space designed to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a calm, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
A Nurturing Space for All Abilities
The Meadow is more than a classroom—it’s a safe and inspiring space tailored for inclusion, support, and growth. Whether a child requires sensory input, social skills development, or personalised learning strategies, The Meadow provides targeted interventions and enriched experiences to help every learner thrive.
We celebrate diversity in learning and adapt to the unique strengths and needs of each child. From children who benefit from quiet reflection to those who need support in language, movement, or emotional regulation, The Meadow is here to offer a bespoke curriculum support alongside their wider school experience. From September 2025, our curriculum will follow the EQUALS Schemes of Work pathways, where our experienced staff will adapt planning to suit the needs of each learner.
Designed with Purpose
Every element of The Meadow has been thoughtfully developed to support sensory, cognitive, and emotional needs:
- Sensory-Rich Environments: The Meadow offers calming lighting, tactile resources, soft furnishings, and designated quiet zones to help children self-regulate and feel secure.
- Language & Communication Support: Visual aids, communication-friendly spaces, and structured routines help support children with speech, language, and communication needs.
- Personalised Learning Areas: With flexible furniture, learning stations, and adjustable environments, every child can access their learning in a way that suits them best.
- Social Development Zones: Designed areas encourage turn-taking, group work, and social storytelling to help children develop confidence in interacting with peers.
Tailored Support, Together
Our dedicated team works closely with other colleagues, specialists, and families to ensure children feel supported, understood, and valued. Provision is highly individualised, ranging from short-term interventions to long-term strategies—always rooted in compassion and high expectations.
The Meadow enables us to:
- Create bespoke sensory diets and calming routines
- Provide 1:1 or small group teaching for literacy, numeracy, and life skills
- Offer emotional and resilience building
- Support transitions between spaces
- Celebrate each child’s unique achievements
